MY DEFINITION OF SUCCESS
Working with great people on a project that we believe in while getting paid to do it.
I USED TO BE A ROCKER
For almost a decade I toured with my band Spektral Motion. We recorded an album entitled “Get Up And Go” which is available at iTunes. We still record together, but I hung up my microphone when I moved to LA in 2006. Thanks to our publishing deal we’ve had song placements in film and television plus, we get a nice little ASCAP check now and then. Songwriting is a huge part of who I am. Someday I hope to combine my screenwriting and songwriting talents to write a musical.
I’M A HAPPILY MARRIED MOTHER OF THREE
I feel the skills I’ve gained from raising my children are invaluable to working in the entertainment industry. The biggest one being patience. A film crew is like a family which is one of the things I love most about my job. I’ve have two teenage boys and a tween aged girl. So, I can basically handle anything that you throw at me. My sexy and talented husband Ryun Hovind is my writing partner and biggest supporter (and he’s my high school sweetheart).
I’M FUN TO BE AROUND
I really believe that every day is a new adventure and I live each one to the fullest. I love people and learning about what makes them tick. I am often remembered because of my personality. I’m very easy to talk to and a great listener. Making people laugh is my constant challenge and goal. I’m an alumnus at IO West and most of what I write is comedy. I’m a strong supporter of the statement that “laughter is the best medicine.”
I’M GOOD AT WHAT I DO
This is not a cocky ego filled statement. I’m extremely hard working and always get the job done on time. I’ve won contests and awards, been in film festivals, had articles written about me and get paid over and over again to do what I love. I’ve been involved in entertainment since I was three and put on stage to sing. My Type A personality goes wonderfully hand in hand with my creative nature. Whether I’m sitting by myself in front of the computer or working on set I’m happy if I’m creating. I have several professional references who can attest to how great I am to work with.
I’M THE DEFINITION OF “KEEPING IT REAL”
Ask anyone who knows me and they’ll agree. I live by what I believe. I have a huge heart for helping children. I became a foster parent at the age of 21. I am a big advocate for the foster care system and helping children to find permanent homes. All three of my children are adopted. I’m happy to talk with anyone who is thinking about the process. Drop me a line and we’ll grab some coffee. I can’t stress enough; it’s the best part of my life.
